Well. I'm still not sure of the exact end size of the new screen face but we have figured out a few things. We will be overhauling the existing screen.
I inspected the screen the other day, and while the surface is severly delamnating, the structure is still in very good condition. We will, most likely this month start the begining of the rebuilding process. I have managed to find a indoor storage facility that will donate a space for us to use, to prep and do the initial painting of the new plywood screen tiles. Once the new tiles have recieved a couple of initial coats of paint, and have dried thoughly. The old screen surface will be torn off of the frame. The frame will have some new supports added, as the new screen tiles will be hung vertically where as the old tile were horizontal. Depending on the weather we are hoping to be able to give the frame a good coat of paint, and then the new plywood screen tiles will be installed.
Once installed the plywood tiles will have the seams and screw heads filled and sanded until smooth. A couple of more coats of paint on a nice day and it will be read for use. This time we are also hoping to install 90 degree trim pieces around the perimeter of the screen, which should help seal out the mosture and keep the new screen new longer. The one thing we don't know yet is the exact final size, which will either be 9X11 feet like it is now or it might expand to 10X13 feet, this will mo depend on cost of materials.
